Hwaseong City to Operate Snow Damage Recovery TF Team Starting from the 9th

Support for Civil Complaints, Restoration Consultation, and Permits

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that it will form a task force (TF) team to support citizens affected by the heavy snowfall at the end of last month and to facilitate rapid disaster recovery, with operations starting from the 9th.

The TF team will be organized into six departments focusing on sectors with significant private sector damage, including agriculture and livestock, small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and construction, and will operate until the 20th. The city plans to assign dedicated personnel to the TF team to provide efficient and prompt support for damage recovery, including ▲receiving damage complaints ▲recovery consultations ▲reconstruction of damaged facilities ▲guidance on related permits and procedures.


According to the city, as of 1 p.m. on the 6th, 7,165 cases of damage from the heavy snowfall have been reported on the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) portal, with the reported damage amounting to approximately 170.1 billion KRW. The city also requested the central government to declare a special disaster zone on the 3rd.


Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We will do our best to support prompt damage recovery through the operation of the TF team," adding, "We will concentrate all administrative capabilities to ensure that affected residents can return to their comfortable daily lives as soon as possible."
