In the statement, they said, "We sincerely apologize to the people. The 68 out-of-office party branch chairpersons of the People Power Party deeply reflect on the current situation and apologize," adding, "We must prevent the impeachment of the president, which would halt the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea, cause nationwide chaos, and bring economic difficulties."

They continued, "The root cause of this situation stems from the abuse of power by the legislative branch, relying on the majority party's strength, causing budget confusion, intimidation of the judiciary, and excessive use of impeachment," and appealed, "We, the 68 out-of-office party branch chairpersons of the People Power Party, earnestly plead. Please make sure to stop the president's impeachment."

Furthermore, they stated, "From now on, we will prioritize understanding public sentiment and focusing on people's livelihoods. We will not be divided," and added, "We consider this the last chance and will do our best."

On the same day, following the vote on the special prosecution law for First Lady Kim Geon-hee, the National Assembly plenary session is scheduled to vote on President Yoon's impeachment motion. The People Power Party has set a party line to 'reject impeachment.' The impeachment motion requires approval by two-thirds or more of the total members to pass. At least eight votes in favor from the ruling party are needed for it to be approved.
