On the 6th, she took the stage at the talk concert "Women Who Became a Genre," co-hosted by Hanwha General Insurance and Follin, held at Dreamplus Gangnam in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The event was a platform for women who have pioneered unique paths in their respective fields to share insights. Former CEO Min gave a lecture titled "Planner Min Hee-jin, Crossing Boundaries to Become a K-pop Genre."
Throughout the lecture, Min candidly shared her struggles with the gap between her convictions and reality. She stated, "Living with conviction is not easy. I receive a lot of attacks, often based on falsehoods." She continued, "I can't always explain that it's a lie, so I have to live bearing the unfairness," conveying the emotional pain she has recently experienced.
Referring to her dispute with HYBE, she said, "People believe what they want to believe. Over time, everyone will know whose words are true." Regarding the ongoing lawsuit, Min added, "I hope everything is resolved quickly, but time does not flow according to my wishes."
Min also responded to questions about NewJeans, the group she produced. She said, "I was confident when planning NewJeans. There were many unsolicited opinions, but I believed that good things cannot be rejected." However, she refrained from making specific comments about the recent announcement by NewJeans members to terminate their exclusive contracts with ADORE.
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, NewJeans declared the termination of their exclusive contracts at a press conference, expressing their desire to "work with former CEO Min Hee-jin if possible." In response, ADORE stated, "The exclusive contracts are valid until 2029," and filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contracts.
Despite the controversies and criticisms surrounding her, Min expressed her determination not to be shaken. She emphasized, "In the end, it must be proven through results and actions, not words. Showing it through life is the most important way."
She also added a message of positivity, saying, "I am going through an excruciatingly difficult time, but I try not to forget the essence of why I started this fight. Studying how to find happiness is more productive. There are many bad people, but I hope people do not forget that there are also many good people."
Through her lecture, Min reaffirmed her belief in steadfastly following her path amid controversy and her philosophy as a K-pop producer. She hinted that she would maintain an independent stance in production, stating, "I dislike interference when drawing the big picture and setting direction."
On the 20th of last month, former CEO Min Hee-jin officially resigned from HYBE after stepping down as an inside director of ADORE. Since then, she has been engaged in legal disputes concerning exclusive contracts and management rights against HYBE executives and its subsidiary labels, Belift Lab and Source Music.
