On the 6th, when non-regular school workers nationwide responsible for school meals, care, and counseling went on a general strike, some schools in the Gyeongnam region faced disruptions in meals and care, with lunch being replaced by bread.
According to the National School Non-Regular Workers' Union and the Gyeongnam Office of Education, out of 170,000 non-regular school workers nationwide, about 60,000 participated in the strike, and in Gyeongnam, 1,375 out of 13,275 education public officials joined the strike.

As the strike mainly took place in the meal and care sectors, among the 1,037 schools providing meals in the province, 237 schools offered alternative meals such as bread and milk or juice, and lunch boxes.
Thirty-three schools adjusted their academic schedules by going on field trips and did not provide meals.
Among approximately 500 schools operating elementary care classrooms, 66 participated in the strike, but it was confirmed that the remaining schools, except for seven, operated normally.
Earlier, the School Non-Regular Workers' Solidarity Conference demanded wage negotiations with the Ministry of Education and 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide in June, but after several rounds of negotiations and adjustments failed, they declared a general strike on the 2nd.
The Gyeongnam branch of the National Education Public Officials Headquarters, part of the Solidarity Conference, held a general strike rally in front of the provincial office of education on the day, urging ▲ an increase in basic salary and seniority allowance ▲ payment of welfare allowances based on the same standards as regular workers ▲ reform of the wage system ▲ establishment of a job assistance allowance.
