10 Finalists Present Original and Practical Ideas

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will hold the finals of the AI competition for employees, ‘Challenge with ChatGPT,’ on the 11th.

A total of 30 employees participated in the AI competition that the district has been conducting since the end of October, submitting creative projects. Among them, 10 advanced to the finals, where they had the opportunity to deeply understand AI technology and learn how to apply it to their work through specialized AI training and online and offline mentoring.

In the finals, participants will present their ideas, and outstanding projects are expected to be actually implemented in Dongdaemun-gu administration. Based on this achievement, the district is also considering participating in a nationwide digital government competition in the future.

The projects advancing to the finals are aimed at practical administrative innovation and consist of original and effective ideas that integrate AI into administrative tasks.

In particular, the ‘Eogong (Accidental Public Official) Helper Platform,’ which helps new public officials efficiently learn laws and tasks, received high praise. The chatbot that automates complex administrative tasks showed potential to reduce employees’ workload and improve administrative efficiency.

Additionally, the system where AI assists in decision-making during interdepartmental task coordination drew great expectations in terms of creativity and scalability.

The response from participating employees was also enthusiastic. One employee said, “I didn’t realize AI would bring such a big change to administrative work,” adding, “I felt proud knowing that it can provide real help to residents in the future.”

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “This challenge is a place that shows the sincerity of employees striving to provide better services to residents through AI,” and added, “We will become the leading autonomous district in digital administration that best utilizes generative AI in Seoul.”
