Gwangju Civic Group "People Power Party, Join Yoon Impeachment"

Civil society organizations in the Gwangju area urged on the 6th, "The People Power Party should stop wavering and immediately proceed with the impeachment of the treason ringleader Yoon Seok-yeol."

The Gwangju Emergency Action for the Resignation of the Yoon Seok-yeol Regime (Emergency Action) stated in an urgent declaration that "Although Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, retracted the party's stance against impeachment and declared participation in the impeachment, his attitude remains unstable."

They added, "There are concerns that the private meeting between Han Dong-hoon and Yoon Seok-yeol this afternoon may lead to an unfortunate decision that commits a historical crime," and "Simply responding to Yoon Seok-yeol's demand for a private meeting to turn back the irreversible wheel is itself a betrayal of the people's wishes."

They further urged, "Leader Han should focus on efforts to get People Power Party lawmakers to participate in the impeachment," and appealed to "judicial institutions and the National Investigation Headquarters to immediately arrest the treason ringleader Yoon Seok-yeol and his accomplices."

The Emergency Action emphasized, "Do not allow the Republic of Korea to be further ravaged by pro-coup forces," and stated, "This is the starting point for rebuilding a Republic of Korea pushed to the brink."
