Emart is accepting applications for the second round of voluntary retirement.
On the 6th, Emart announced through the internal bulletin board that it is accepting applications for voluntary retirement. Eligible applicants are employees in Band 1 (Senior Manager) to Band 3 (Manager) with more than 15 years of service (hired before January 1, 2010), and employees in Band 4 (Assistant Manager) to Band 5 (Staff) with more than 10 years of service (hired before January 1, 2015).
The application period is from today until the 23rd. Voluntary retirees will receive, in addition to the statutory severance pay, a special retirement allowance equivalent to 20 to 40 months of their basic monthly salary, a living support fund ranging from 15 million to 25 million KRW depending on years of service, and a career transition support fund ranging from 10 million to 30 million KRW depending on rank. After retirement, they can also enjoy a shopping discount at Emart up to 7 million KRW annually for 10 years.
This is Emart's second voluntary retirement program following the one conducted in March. An Emart official stated, "In order to secure sustainable competitiveness in the rapidly changing distribution environment and to support employees preparing for new challenges, we are implementing the second voluntary retirement program. We will provide appropriate compensation and the best possible support to employees who choose voluntary retirement."
