To manage greenhouse gases systematically and efficiently, the plan aims to link with national and Jeollanam-do higher-level basic plans and establish a plan reflecting regional characteristics.
The city presented the vision of "Yeosu, a Leading Carbon Neutral City Created Together with Citizens," setting a goal to reduce greenhouse gases by 40% by 2030 compared to 2018 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The basic plan will be established through opinions proposed at the report meeting, advisory meetings, surveys, and the collection of opinions from local community stakeholders.
A city official stated, "As Yeosu aims to host the 33rd United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP33), we will establish the basic plan solidly and play a leading role in realizing carbon neutrality."
