The 2024 Gyeonggi-do Smoking Cessation Project Performance Competition is an event that evaluates and inspects the achievements of community smoking cessation projects conducted by health centers in 31 cities and counties of Gyeonggi-do, selecting outstanding institutions.
The event included awarding outstanding institutions and meritorious persons based on the evaluation of smoking cessation project achievements in cities and counties within Gyeonggi-do, presentations of project results, and sharing of best practices.
The Pocheon City Health Center was highly recognized for successfully promoting citizen-participatory plogging and smoking cessation campaigns, as well as conducting smoking prevention education targeting daycare centers and kindergartens, contributing to the creation of a smoke-free environment in the community.
Park Eun-sook, Director of the Health Center, said, “We are pleased that our efforts to promote citizens’ health and improve quality of life have been recognized. We will continue to create a smoke-free environment aimed at reducing smoking rates and preventing secondhand smoke, fostering a healthy living culture.”
