This event was the first program of the reading culture events prepared as part of the "Reading Club Meeting Space Support Project," held at the reading club meeting space "Osaek Picture Book Room" located in Soheul-eup.
The reading culture event at the reading club meeting space was organized to provide private facilities such as bookstores and cafes in the region as reading meeting spaces, alleviating spatial constraints for reading clubs and spreading the culture of reading together.
At the meeting with author Jomi-ja, the author communicated with participants by explaining the reasons for creating picture books and the meanings of the illustrations, focusing on emotional picture books such as "Anxiety," "Worry Box," and "Knock! Knock! Knock! for the Sad Me."
One participant said, "Listening to the author's story allowed me to understand the picture books more deeply. It was a precious time to face the emotions inside my heart."
Meanwhile, Pocheon City will hold various reading culture events, starting with the "Osaka Tea Room" program at Koje Tea House on the 11th, followed by "Meeting with Author Kim Seol" at Cafe Donghwa on the 12th, "Reading Together That Saved Me" at Cafe Banwol on the 13th, "Night of Poetry Reading" at Gonggan Nemo on the 16th, and "Time to Encounter the Me Inside Me" at Ildong Library and Seondan Forest on the 17th and 20th, respectively.
Detailed information about the reading culture events can be found on the Myeonam Central Library website.
