'Three Types of Beneficial Microorganisms: Complex Microorganisms, Bacillus, and Photosynthetic Bacteria'
Jeonbuk Iksan City announced on the 6th that it is accepting applications for the '2025 Agricultural Useful Microorganism Supply Project' for horticulture and livestock farms until the 11th.
The useful microorganisms supplied include three types: composite microorganisms, Bacillus subtilis, and photosynthetic bacteria, with a total of 630 tons planned to be distributed free of charge.
The supply targets are farmers who have their address or farming base in Iksan City, are registered as agricultural business entities in the horticulture or livestock sectors, and can apply at the Eup, Myeon, or Dong administrative welfare centers.
The composite microorganisms and Bacillus subtilis supplied to horticulture farms help alleviate continuous cropping obstacles and promote root establishment, thereby enhancing crop growth. The photosynthetic bacteria and Bacillus subtilis supplied to livestock farms reduce odors and improve the environment around livestock facilities.
Selected recipients will receive useful microorganisms throughout the year from January to December next year. Horticulture farmers can receive them on Mondays and Thursdays, while livestock farmers can receive them on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Microbial Cultivation Room of the Agricultural Technology Center. For more details, please contact the Technology Extension Division.
A city official stated, “Every year, we educate farmers using useful microorganisms on the correct understanding and utilization methods of microorganisms,” and added, “Training sessions will be held three times on the 12th to 13th at the Agricultural Technology Center, and we encourage many farmers to participate.”
