Osan-si Wins 'Grand Prize' in Two Categories of Ministry of Health and Welfare Regional Welfare Project Evaluation

Visiting Health and Welfare, Public-Private Cooperation, and Resource Coordination

Osan City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 6th that it received grand prizes in two categories in the '2024 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.


The regional welfare project evaluation was conducted across a total of 17 categories, and the city was selected for the grand prize in two categories: ▲Provision of Visiting Health and Welfare Services ▲Public-Private Cooperation and Resource Linkage.

In this year's evaluation, in addition to the grand prizes, the city also received 'Excellence Awards' in the areas of ▲Operation of the Hope Welfare Support Group ▲Post-Management of Social Security Benefits ▲Discovery and Support of Welfare Crisis Households in Winter.


In the category of provision of visiting health and welfare services, the city explained that it received high evaluations for offering various visiting welfare services reflecting residents' needs, such as the mobile counseling vehicle 'Hope Dong(Dong) CAR,' operation of the 'Legal Home Doctor,' 'Welfare Registered Mail Service,' and the 'Visiting Mobile Counseling' by the Gyeonggi-do Center for Financial Welfare for Low-Income Citizens.


In the public-private cooperation and resource linkage category, the city’s sponsorship funded the operation of a total of eight 'Niche Welfare Projects' through public-private cooperation, including 'Infinite Narmi Moving Support,' 'Mind Care, Reflecting Together,' 'Mind Healing Horticultural Therapy,' 'Together On Knock On Osan,' and 'Family Care Youth Support.'


The Hope Welfare Support Group operation category, which received an excellence award, is a project promoted as a special policy of Osan City. Dedicated integrated case managers for discovering crisis households were assigned to each neighborhood to establish a system for identifying and supporting case management subjects with various welfare needs, aiming to improve the qualitative level of integrated case management. In the post-management of social security benefits category, the integrated investigation management team was evaluated for promptly processing six indicators, including handling within the integrated household personnel adjustment period, processing change notifications and their appropriateness, and post-management of income and property clarifications, ensuring timely and accurate reflection of verification investigations and changes.


Mayor Lee Gwon-jae of Osan City said, "We will continue to do our best to create a happy Osan where citizens’ lives are renewed through specialized welfare services until many citizens are satisfied."
