The Democratic Party announced on the 6th that it will consider applying charges of treason and filing a complaint against Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party.
Cho Seung-rae, the senior spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said in a meeting with reporters at the National Assembly that morning, "Floor Leader Choo lured his party's lawmakers to the party office instead of the National Assembly during the urgent situation when illegal martial law was declared, fomenting confusion and obstructing the vote on the 'demand to lift martial law'."
Spokesperson Cho added, "There were also reports that he requested a delay in the vote by asking the Speaker of the National Assembly for more time," explaining, "It is suspected that he tried to buy time for the martial law troops who stormed the National Assembly to arrest lawmakers in this urgent situation."

He then raised his voice, saying, "Even now, when the entire nation is outraged over the illegal martial law treason, Floor Leader Choo is forcing his party members to oppose impeachment and obstructing the legitimate exercise of the National Assembly's authority," adding, "He is even blocking solutions to stop the rampaging treason ringleader."
Spokesperson Cho warned, "Choo Kyung-ho, suspected of conspiring with the Yoon Seok-yeol administration to lead treason crimes, must be prepared to face legal judgment," and stated, "The Democratic Party has decided to consider applying charges of treason and filing a complaint against Floor Leader Choo."
