Gyeongbuk Office of Education Simplifies Contractor Submission Documents from 10 to 1 Type... Saves 300 Million KRW Annually

Plan to Simplify Contract Documents
Full Implementation Starting January Next Year

Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 6th the ‘Contract Document Simplification Promotion Plan,’ which consolidates the 10 types of documents previously required at the time of contract signing into a single document, and stated that it will be fully implemented starting January next year.

The main point of the plan is to eliminate the inconvenience where contract parties had to prepare and submit 10 types of documents such as the contract deposit payment memorandum, integrity pledge, and safety and health management compliance pledge, by simplifying them into one ‘Integrated Contract Performance Pledge.’

Additionally, as part of practicing carbon neutrality, paper documents customarily required by various institutions will be reduced, and contract documents attached as electronic files during electronic contract signing will omit the submission of separate paper documents.

Furthermore, this will eliminate the inconvenience of contract parties having to visit educational institutions in person or send documents via registered mail for contract document submission, thereby significantly contributing not only to cost reduction for contract parties but also to improving work efficiency through electronic processing of contract tasks.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education estimates that this contract document simplification measure will save an annual cost of 32.7 million KRW for contract parties visiting the Gyeongbuk Office of Education to submit documents, and more than 300 million KRW annually when including all educational institutions in the province.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of Gyeongbuk Office of Education said, “I hope this measure will reduce inconveniences for local businesses and serve as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with educational institutions,” adding, “We will continue to develop sustainable win-win measures through communication with local businesses.”
