Korean Air announced on the 6th that it won two awards at the '2024 Global Traveler Tested Reader Survey Awards (2024 GT Tested Reader Survey Awards)' hosted by a world-renowned travel magazine.
Korean Air was selected as number one in two categories: ▲Best Airline for Onboard Service ▲Best Frequent-Flyer Award Redemption. Notably, the frequent-flyer award redemption program ranked first for the second consecutive year.
Korean Air's onboard service received high praise for providing a highly satisfying travel experience, including friendly and professional service as well as a variety of in-flight meal options. Recently, Korean Air enhanced its snack menu with sandwiches, corn dogs, and hot pockets. Reflecting the growing vegetarian population, it introduced vegan menus based on traditional Korean cuisine and offers carefully categorized special meals such as vegetarian, gluten-restricted, and infant meals through a pre-order service.
Korean Air's frequent-flyer program, SKYPASS, not only allows customers to accumulate mileage based on their ticket usage but also provides various services where accumulated mileage can be used. Korean Air plans to operate six special flights on the Gimpo-Jeju route that can be booked first using mileage. It also continuously operates services such as Cash and Miles, which allows partial payment of ticket prices with mileage, and Bonus Hot Pick, which offers mileage discounts for customers purchasing bonus tickets, enhancing customer convenience.
Global Traveler is a North American monthly magazine specializing in aviation and travel, launched in 2004. Every year, it conducts surveys among online and offline subscribers and announces airline rankings in various categories. This year, the significance of the award was heightened as Francis Gallagher, CEO of Global Traveler, personally shared his impressions after flying with Korean Air.
