Yang Min-hyeok, a player from Gangwon FC who is transferring to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of this year, visited Chuncheon on the 5th before his departure to bid farewell to home fans. Yang visited the Gangwon FC Youth Academy (U12 soccer team) and Hupyeong Middle School (U15 soccer team) in Chuncheon to encourage young soccer juniors.

Since debuting in K League 1 as a high school student, Yang Min-hyeok led his team to its first-ever runner-up finish with an outstanding record of 12 goals and 6 assists. During this process, he earned various records and awards such as the youngest Player of the Month, Young Player Award, and Best XI, and was also selected for the national team. Starting next year, he is scheduled to play for Tottenham.

After meeting with his juniors, Yang visited the Gangwon Provincial Office to meet Kim Jin-tae, Governor of Gangwon Province and owner of Gangwon FC, and expressed his gratitude and farewell to the citizens of Chuncheon.

Yang said, “The support from the fans has been a great strength,” and expressed his thanks, saying, “I sincerely thank the people of Gangwon Province and owner Kim Jin-tae for their wholehearted support.” He added, “I will work hard in the UK as well, so please continue to cheer passionately.”

In response, Governor Kim encouraged Yang, saying, “I will continue to support Yang Min-hyeok so that he does well at Tottenham and does not forget Gangwon, his second hometown.”
