On the 5th, the Korea Communications Standards Commission decided to issue a corrective order to immediately delete the link from the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions that sends text messages urging ruling party lawmakers to support the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
When accessing the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Impeachment Urging Text Action' link created by the KCTU, a window appears allowing automatic sending of text messages to the mobile phones of ruling party lawmakers. The message reads, "Will you be impeached along with Yoon Seok-yeol, or will you support the impeachment motion now and stand proudly before history? The public is watching your choice."
Ruling party lawmakers have complained about receiving thousands of critical text messages per hour urging them to join the impeachment of President Yoon, suffering from a "text message bomb" controversy. The People Power Party stated, "We will take strong legal action against illegal acts such as personal information leakage and obstruction of work."
The KCSC sent an official letter requesting the deletion of the information to the KCTU and decided to respond step-by-step, including requesting administrative measures from the Korea Communications Commission if they do not comply.
