On the same day, during an emergency inquiry by the National Defense Committee of the National Assembly, General Park responded to a question from Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party of Korea asking, "Did Commander Gwak propose the use of tasers and blank bullets?" by saying, "There was such a proposal."
General Park stated that four people, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff martial law officer and those accompanying him, discussed the matter and decided not to use tasers and blank bullets.
When asked whether the scenario involved firing blank bullets and using tasers during the arrest of lawmakers, he replied, "We seriously considered that aspect."
