Rep. Yong Hye-in "Declares Participation Next Time as Well"
Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho stated on the 5th that regarding whether the police would be mobilized if President Yoon Seok-yeol were to declare martial law again, "I will make a judgment based on the situation at that time."
Commissioner Jo made this remark during the plenary session of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee in response to a question from Yong Hye-in, a member of the Basic Income Party, who asked, "If an unconstitutional proclamation is issued, will you block the National Assembly again?"
Representative Yong criticized, "I hope the December 3 Yoon Seok-yeol insurrection incident never recurs, but seeing the Minister of the Interior and Safety and the Police Commissioner, it seems it could happen again."
Commissioner Jo defended himself by saying, "I have never prevented the lifting of martial law."
Representative Yong sharpened her criticism, saying, "The accomplices of the insurrection have declared they will participate again next time," and added, "I don't understand what kind of wealth and glory the Police Commissioner is seeking."
