Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, is introducing a 'Floor Impact Sound Performance Inspection' to resolve disputes over noise between neighbors.

According to the district on the 5th, this inspection is a system that verifies the floor impact sound insulation performance (lightweight and heavyweight impact sound) after construction, based on the 'Standards for Certification and Management of Floor Impact Sound Insulation in Multi-family Housing.'

The target is public housing scheduled for completion next year. If the performance inspection results do not meet the criteria of 58 dB or less for lightweight impact sound and 50 dB or less for heavyweight impact sound, measures such as supplementary construction will be recommended.

A district official stated, "As regulations related to noise between floors are being strengthened, we will continuously manage multi-family housing sites to minimize noise occurrences and disputes between neighbors."
