Deputy Minister Kim made this remark during an emergency inquiry at the National Defense Committee of the National Assembly, in response to a related question from Heo Young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who asked, "Shouldn't a suspension of duties and travel ban be imposed on the Martial Law Commander and all other commanders?" He said, "If it is judged during the investigation process that someone is currently in a position where it is difficult to perform their duties, appropriate measures will be taken accordingly."

Earlier, the police began an investigation into the case of accusations of rebellion against President Yoon Seok-yeol and others. A National Investigation Headquarters official from the National Police Agency stated, "Two cases filed for rebellion and other charges have been combined and assigned to the Security Investigation Division within the National Investigation Headquarters."

The Innovation Party for Justice filed accusations the previous day with the National Investigation Headquarters against President Yoon, former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, Army Chief of Staff Park An-su, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and others on charges including rebellion.

In response to a question from Kang Sun-young, a member of the People Power Party, regarding the application of the crime of rebellion to troops deployed to the National Assembly, Deputy Minister Kim replied, "At this point, you mentioned the crime of rebellion and military rebellion, but we have not confirmed any factual relationships or anything that would definitively define it as such."
