Announcement of Myeonmok District Center District Unit Plan Decision (Change) and Establishment of Saja-jeong Station Area Redevelopment Plan
Enhancing Feasibility of Transit-Oriented Development in Special Planning Zones

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced on the 5th the revision of the district unit plan for the Myeonmok District Center in the area around Sagajeong Station in Myeonmok-dong, and unveiled a redevelopment plan to revitalize the station area.


This revision plan passed the 10th Seoul Urban Architecture Joint Committee review in July.


The district reorganized the existing plans within the district unit plan area and decided to change the urban management plan to enable large-scale development of the station area.


One of the main changes is the establishment of a special planning zone. Through this, it has become possible to formulate project plans that strengthen the district center by inducing integrated development of the station area and activating major pedestrian axes.

Additionally, the district expanded recommended uses such as cafes and restaurants to enhance the continuity of streets along pedestrian-priority roads and to revitalize the lower floors. This is expected to simultaneously promote residents’ convenience and commercial district revitalization.


In particular, the ‘Camellia Shopping Center’ in Myeonmok Market, which has been loved by residents for a long time, was designated as a special planning zone and detailed development plans have been completed as the central axis of the Sagajeong Station area revitalization project. The zoning has been upgraded from quasi-residential to neighborhood commercial, and a maximum floor area ratio of 600% will be applied to promote mixed development including apartment complexes and neighborhood living facilities.


Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Through this revision of the Myeonmok District Center district unit plan, the area around Sagajeong Station will be further revitalized, providing residents with a pleasant living environment and various conveniences. We will continue to strive to proactively respond to regional changes and demands.”
