Installation of Safety Bars and Automatic Doors... Support for a Total of 9 Households Including Tile and Flooring Replacement
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 5th that it has successfully completed the '2024 Housing Renovation Project for Persons with Disabilities' to enhance residential convenience and improve living conditions for people with disabilities.

This project was conducted targeting registered disabled households residing in homes that meet the income criteria of being below the previous year's average monthly income per urban worker household.
The main construction details included ▲ installation of safety bars ▲ replacement of bathroom anti-slip tiles ▲ installation of automatic doors convenient for wheelchair users ▲ removal of door thresholds and replacement of flooring, with a total of 9 households supported?4 in the first half and 5 in the second half of the year.
Additionally, Goyang City is leading efforts to improve citizens' residential environments through various housing environment improvement projects beyond this initiative.
Representative projects include the Hae-sal Housing, a home repair project that enhances energy efficiency to reduce heating and electricity costs; the Senior Safety Housing, which strengthens safety facilities and improves living environments for basic pension recipients aged 65 and older; the Child Residential Poverty Household Clean Service for child households living in poor conditions such as semi-basements or rooftops; and the G-Housing project, which improves the residential environment of vulnerable groups by utilizing private resources and talent donations.
Through these efforts, a total of 78 households have benefited this year alone, and next year, related projects will be actively promoted through the Goyang City Housing Welfare Center blog and the Administrative Welfare Center website.
A representative from the Goyang City Housing Welfare Center stated, “As the living conditions of persons with disabilities in Goyang City have been significantly improved through this year’s housing renovation project for persons with disabilities, we will continue to expand citizen welfare through various housing environment improvement projects next year,” adding, “We will continue to implement housing welfare policies that allow all citizens to live in safe and comfortable environments.”
