Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting 3,102 participants for the 2025 Senior Job Program to provide customized job opportunities.
The recruitment fields are ▲Public Interest Activities 2,095 people ▲Capacity Utilization 635 people ▲Community Project Group 231 people ▲Employment Support 141 people. This is an increase of 197 people compared to this year, and next year, 55 projects will be operated at 25 institutions.
'Public Interest Activities' include volunteer fields that contribute to community development such as environmental maintenance, patrol, and welfare assistance. 'Capacity Utilization' refers to projects that require seniors' expertise and experience, such as safety, care, and education.
Participants in the 'Community Project Group' work at private institutions including delivery, distribution, and food sectors, while those in 'Employment Support' perform duties such as dispatching exam supervisors. Working hours and wages vary by project, and activity fees are paid based on the minimum wage.
The target participants are basic pension recipients aged 65 or older residing in Gwangjin-gu, and some projects except for 'Public Interest Activities' are open to those aged 60 or older. However, overlapping benefits with government support such as livelihood benefits or other job programs are restricted.
Applicants wishing to participate should apply by the 20th of this month with required documents such as ID and resident registration certificate at the local community service center or private executing institutions. However, since recruitment periods may vary by application location, it is advisable to check in advance before visiting.
Selection results will be individually notified on January 15 next year, and activities are scheduled to begin on February 3. For more details, information can be found on the Gwangjin-gu Office website.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We hope this will help economically empower vulnerable seniors and promote their social participation,” adding, “We will do our best to create stable jobs and support a healthy and vibrant old age.”
In September, Gwangjin-gu obtained certification for joining the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities. The district is focusing on enhancing senior happiness by promoting various senior welfare support projects.
