TikTok annually releases rankings for ‘Top Artists’ and ‘Top Songs’ based on the number of views on official artist accounts and the most frequently used tracks in content creation, providing an overview of the year’s music trends.

This year, the K-pop group that garnered the most attention on TikTok was ENHYPEN. Ranking second among global artists, they proved the strength of their fandom and influence on the international stage.

From third to seventh place, NCT, Le Sserafim, Stray Kids, aespa, and Tomorrow X Together each secured a spot, reaffirming the worldwide popularity of K-pop groups.

TWICE also demonstrated their enduring popularity by ranking ninth.

The global number one spot went to Mexican artist Yeri Mua, who gained massive popularity on TikTok with her 2023 release ‘Linea del Perreo.’

The song most enjoyed by Korean TikTok users was TWICE’s ‘Look at Me.’ Originally released in 2017, the track recently regained attention thanks to the viral ‘Look at Me’ challenge created by international fans.

Other songs that ranked high included “Good Night Miss” by ASMRZ, “Girls like me don’t cry” by thuy, “Magnetic” by ILLIT, “Tiramisu Cake” by We Are The Night, and “The First Meeting Doesn’t Go as Planned” by Tours.

K-pop artists also achieved notable results on Apple Music’s ‘2024 Global Top Songs’ chart, not just on TikTok.

ILLIT’s ‘Magnetic’ ranked 25th, marking the highest position for a K-pop track. ‘Seven’ by Jungkook of BTS in collaboration with Latto took 41st place, while Le Sserafim’s ‘Perfect Night’ reached 55th.

The annual rankings released by TikTok for 2024 demonstrate that K-pop continues to hold a central position in the global music industry. Additionally, the viral culture unique to short-form platforms provides opportunities for older songs to gain new life, indicating the ongoing growth potential of K-pop.

The global top song was ‘Gata Only’ by FloyyMenor and Cris MJ, followed by tracks such as ‘Pedro,’ ‘Alibi,’ and ‘Million Dollar Baby.’

A TikTok representative explained, “Trends like memes and challenges allow even older songs to receive renewed attention,” describing the platform’s unique content ecosystem.
