The Uiryeong Office of Education implemented an expansion and reorganization of school attendance zones to respect the choice of education demanders for the 2025 academic year, following the 2024 academic year.

In the 2024 academic year, the attendance zones for Uiryeong Elementary and Namsan Elementary in Uiryeong-eup were expanded and reorganized to include six schools in the eastern region (Jeonggok Elementary, Yugok Elementary, Burim Elementary, Jijeong Elementary, Namsan Elementary Gungnyu Branch, Burim Elementary Bongsu Branch). This year, the Osan-ri area in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun was expanded from the existing Hapcheon Daeyang Elementary attendance zone to a joint attendance zone for Hapcheon Daeyang Elementary and Burim Elementary Bongsu Branch.

The Uiryeong Office of Education recognized complaints regarding Osan-ri in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun starting from the 2024 academic year and continuously consulted with related organizations to reflect submitted opinions. Upon finalizing the 2025 academic year attendance zones, they agreed to expand the attendance zone to a "joint attendance zone" so that education demanders can choose schools according to their preferences.

Superintendent Kwon Soon-hee stated, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that students can attend classes in a more comfortable and safe learning environment by improving school attendance zones and commuting convenience."
