On the 5th, Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced that it received the grand prize for ranking first nationwide in the 'Integrated Medical Care Support' category at the 2024 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

This evaluation has been conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare since 2013 to select and award local governments with outstanding welfare administration, and Buk-gu earned the grand prize for its 'Permanent Rental Complex Care Specialized Village' project.

The district formed a 'Village Care Promotion Team' targeting permanent rental complexes where vulnerable groups reside, implementing customized services that received high praise.

Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, stated, "This year, we approved the first tailored care project based on medical care throughout the life cycle, focusing administrative capabilities on creating an inclusive integrated care leading city. As integrated medical care is a welfare policy that must be strengthened in the aging era, we will continue to discover and provide medical care services that residents can truly feel."
