Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 5th that it has completed preparations for winter road snow removal in anticipation of heavy snowfall.

Pocheon City established snow removal forward bases in Gasan-myeon and Idong-myeon, and completed maintenance of snow removal equipment and materials, including automatic brine spraying devices at 15 major mountain passes.

The city secured 24 of its own equipment and 12 rented equipment, and strengthened its snow removal response capabilities by additionally purchasing one excavator (06W) and five spreaders.

It also installed 335 snow removal boxes and secured a total of 7,216 tons of snow removal agents, including eco-friendly snow removal agents and calcium chloride, completing preparations for snow removal materials.

Kang Jong-hyung, Director of the Road Division, said, "We have thoroughly completed preparations for winter road snow removal," and added, "We will carry out snow removal work quickly and efficiently to minimize inconvenience to citizens."

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City said, "We will do our best to prevent damage from heavy snowfall caused by abnormal weather," and requested, "We ask all citizens to refrain from driving during heavy snowfall and actively cooperate in clearing snow in front of their homes and stores."
