Contributing to Workplace Hazard Improvement Measures and
Establishment of Safety and Health Management System
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province will officially operate the 'On-site Assistance Sacheon Team' to prevent serious accidents at small-scale private workplaces.
On the 4th, the city held an appointment ceremony for the 'Serious Accident Prevention On-site Assistance Sacheon Team' in the mayor's office and presented appointment letters to four members from companies and safety management specialized organizations.
These members include one person from the KAI Safety and Environment Team, one from the Unison Safety Management Team, one from the DHI Safety and Environment Public Service Team, and one from the Korea Industrial Safety Association Gyeongnam Western Branch. They currently hold industrial safety and health-related certifications and are working as safety and health officers at industrial sites.
The On-site Assistance Sacheon Team supports industrial and serious accident prevention activities at workplaces by providing guidance and advice on risk factors such as fires, entrapment, and falls in workplaces with fewer than 50 employees that face difficulties due to low capabilities.
Additionally, to ensure the effectiveness of accident prevention, the team visits each workplace three times to verify improvement measures, identify additional work risk factors, conduct risk assessments, and provide various materials and information to encourage the establishment of safety and health management systems tailored to each workplace.
Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "Private workplaces will greatly benefit from the professional guidance and advice of the On-site Assistance Sacheon Team in establishing safety and health management systems," and added, "I ask for broad activities to prevent industrial accidents at workplaces within the jurisdiction."
