Small-scale Farmer Direct Payment to 4,710 Farms
Area-based Direct Payment to 4,304 Farms
On the 5th, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it will pay the 2024 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment.
The payment targets a total of 9,014 farms (13.6 billion KRW), including 4,304 farms (7.6 billion KRW) for area-based direct payments and 4,710 farms (6 billion KRW) for small-scale direct payments.
For area-based direct payments, a lower unit price is applied as the cultivated area increases, and for small-scale direct payments, farms with a cultivated area between 0.1 ha and 0.5 ha will receive 1.3 million KRW, which is an increase of 100,000 KRW from this year.
County Governor Lee Seung-hwa said, "I hope this will be of some help to farmers who are experiencing difficulties such as rising production costs," and added, "We will continue to support income stability for farmers."
Now in its fifth year of implementation, the Basic Public Interest Direct Payment system was established to promote the public functions of agriculture and rural areas and to stabilize farmers' incomes.
Subsidies are provided to farmers who meet certain qualifications and comply with the required conditions.
