The "Smart Port Logistics Idea Competition Using Generative AI" was an event organized by the RIS Smart Port Logistics Project Group and hosted by the Department of Computer Software at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology as part of the Busan Shared University Employment and Startup Capacity Enhancement Program’s Smart Port Logistics 4.0 Innovation Talent Development extracurricular program. The competition was conducted for all students enrolled in the Department of Computer Software.
The students participating in this event first visited Hanjin Terminal at Busan New Port, where they had a session with the person in charge explaining the container logistics processing methods and smart port logistics. They then went to Hwangryongwon in Gyeongju for team activities, where they enhanced their AI utilization skills through education, generated various startup ideas related to the smart logistics field, and created and presented virtual IR materials. Notably, the AI skill enhancement education provided during this event is expected to serve as a significant stepping stone for students’ diverse career paths, including employment.
Jung Jin-woo, a sophomore in the Department of Computer Software, said, “Through this event, I gained various specialized knowledge about maritime logistics and AI, and based on this experience, I plan to further expand the scope of AI utilization.”
Heo Bong-sik, head of the Department of Computer Software, stated, “Starting in 2024, we will continue to provide students with various experiences and opportunities by participating in the ‘Busan Shared University Smart Logistics Nanodegree Program,’ offering more chances for students to broadly apply their IT and AI learning experiences.”
The Department of Computer Software at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was established in March 1983 and has produced numerous talents in the IT field over more than 40 years. It aims to educate skilled software development experts in smart IT industry fields such as web, mobile apps, databases, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and cloud computing.
