Professor Yoon Il of Pukyong National University (majoring in Japanese Language and Literature) has been appointed as the new president of the Northeast Asian Cultural Studies Association. The term of office is two years, starting from December.
Founded in 1998, the Northeast Asian Cultural Studies Association explores various discourses on Northeast Asian culture, analyzes cultural exchanges in Northeast Asia, and attempts to build a Northeast Asian cultural community, among other research on Northeast Asia.
The association holds international academic conferences twice a year, establishes academic research networks with Northeast Asian countries for exchange, and publishes the Korea Research Foundation-registered journal "Northeast Asian Cultural Studies" four times a year.
