Gwanak-gu Selected as 'Best Operating Institution' for the 11th Early Childhood Forest Family Festival

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is accelerating the creation of a healing and garden city in Gwanak by being selected as the ‘2024 Best Operating Institution for the Early Childhood Forest Family Festival’ hosted by Seoul City.

Seoul City selects excellent operating institutions each year from among 28 organizations that promote the Early Childhood Forest Family Festival.

The district was honored once again as the best institution in 2024, following its selection in 2022.

The Early Childhood Forest Family Festival held last October at Cheongryongsan Early Childhood Forest Experience Center under the theme ‘Let’s Play at the Forest Garden’ received excellent evaluations in ▲ four fields with 23 forest experience and play programs ▲ festival safety and operation management ▲ and promotion.

A total of 1,565 participants from 478 families took part in the festival. Participants showed positive responses to the family healing content through natural experiences provided by the forest. The participant satisfaction rate recorded 97.4%, recognizing the district’s excellent planning and operational capabilities for the early childhood forest festival.

On December 13, the district will present best practices and share achievements at the ‘Early Childhood Forest Academy’ conducted by Seoul City to strengthen the capabilities of early childhood forest instructors and promote forest education.

Meanwhile, next year, along with the ‘Early Childhood Forest Family Festival,’ the district plans to introduce various forest leisure programs that allow enjoyment of nature in the city, including ▲ forest cultural performances ▲ family forest healing camps ▲ children’s playground programs ▲ and operation of the Gwanaksan water play area.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I am pleased that the Early Childhood Forest Festival, where families can heal together in nature, has achieved good results,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a ‘healing and garden city Gwanak’ where residents can enjoy various leisure activities and rest in nature.”
