Since Its Opening on October 26, Gaining Popularity... Swimming and Other Lesson Programs Fully Booked Early
The Taean-gun Family Empathy Center, a complex cultural space established in Taean-gun, Chungnam, has surpassed 10,000 cumulative visitors just over a month after its opening.
The county announced on the 5th that the Taean-gun Family Empathy Center, which opened on October 26, reached a milestone of 10,000 visitors as of December 1.
The Taean-gun Family Empathy Center is a complex cultural facility where children and families can enjoy together, located in Dongmun-ri, Taean-eup.
The center is a three-story building with a site area of 16,324 square meters, a building area of 3,209 square meters, and a total floor area of 6,021 square meters. It is divided into the Family Center Wing and the Children's Dream Playground Wing, boasting excellent facilities such as a children's swimming pool, playground, science center, and media center.
Additionally, the center features various spaces to nurture children's dreams, including a small library with over 2,000 books, a family play area, a creative studio, a creative broadcasting room, a Dream Learning Center, and a shared kitchen. Outdoor facilities include air bouncing, a ground fountain, a children's forest experience center, and a natural rock climbing trail.
From the opening day on October 26 to December 1, the facility saw an average of 163 visitors on weekdays and 612 on weekends. The most popular facility was the children's playground, with a cumulative 4,224 visitors, followed by the science center, which attracted 2,386 visitors, establishing themselves as the most popular attractions.
In addition, many children enjoyed leisure time at the air bouncing area (947 visitors), indoor climbing room (853 visitors), and swimming pool (714 visitors). On weekends, many families from other cities and counties visited the center, solidifying its role as a new tourism resource.
Swimming lessons, climbing, and science principle experience programs, which recruited participants in line with the opening, were fully booked within 30 minutes of registration. The children's playground is also fully booked every weekend, and there is a flood of group use inquiries from not only residents but also local daycare centers and elementary schools, highlighting its popularity.
Residents who visited the center shared positive feedback, saying, "I tried to apply for the science principle experience program for my children, but it was already full, so I'm waiting for the next round," "Both children and parents enjoy it, so we come often," and "The various facilities are conveniently located, making it easy to use," expressing their satisfaction with the center's operation.
County Governor Gasero said, "Thank you for your great interest and support for the Family Empathy Center, which we have devoted much effort to since the 7th civil administration to provide educational, cultural, and experiential spaces for children and to relieve and recharge parents' childcare burdens."
He added, "We will continue to strive so that the Family Empathy Center, which we can proudly say is a top-class complex cultural facility in the nation, will be recognized as a landmark and tourism resource not only in Taean but also as a beloved facility for people nationwide."
