Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) Muju Pumped Storage Power Plant (Director Yang Haeyeon) conducted a joint "military-police-government" exercise on the 4th to respond to cyber threats. The exercise involved KHNP Muju Pumped Storage Power Plant, Muju County Office, Muju Police Station, and the 1st Battalion of the 103rd Brigade, focusing on ▲enhancing information security management capabilities ▲emergency response and recovery procedures for power plant control and information systems.

This exercise was carried out to strengthen the response capabilities against cyber threats to the power plant's infrastructure and to solidify the cooperation system with related organizations.

In particular, based on scenarios similar to real situations, the exercise aimed to inspect vulnerabilities in the power plant's operating systems and establish a rapid response system in the event of a cyberattack.

Yang Haeyeon, Director of Muju Pumped Storage Power Plant, expressed expectations that "this exercise will further enhance the power plant's information security level and contribute to protecting key infrastructure in the region through cooperation with related organizations."

Meanwhile, Muju Pumped Storage Power Plant plans to regularize such exercises and continuously improve response capabilities by introducing various scenarios to prepare for increasingly sophisticated and intelligent cyber threats.
