Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the "2nd Gwangjin Sharing Day" event on the 11th at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium.
Gwangjin Sharing Day is an occasion prepared to express gratitude to outstanding donors in the region and to contribute to the spread of a sharing culture. This is the second event following last year.
Co-hosted by the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation (Chairman Kim Seok-hoe) and the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest (Chairman Kim Jae-rok), the event is expected to be attended by about 900 people including outstanding donors, sponsors, and local residents. Along with the unveiling ceremony of the "2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter" temperature tower, the "Our Neighborhood Sharing Campaign," which will warmly melt the chilly weather, will officially begin.
The official event opens with the screening of the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation promotional video. Appreciation plaques will be awarded to 50 outstanding donors for neighbor aid funds, followed by commemorative speeches, congratulatory addresses, the Honor Society membership ceremony, and the unveiling ceremony of the Love Temperature Tower.
In particular, an honorable moment will follow as Kim Seok-hoe, Chairman of the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation, and Lee Jae-rim, Co-CEO of Borim Construction, join the Honor Society, a donation program of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest.
Cultural performances will also be presented. Kim Jae-gwan, a master of the national intangible cultural asset Jeokbyeokga, will perform Chunhyangga and Jeokbyeokga pansori. A string duo performance of cello and violin, boasting fantastic harmony, will further elevate the atmosphere of the event.
In addition, a bazaar, donation delivery ceremony, and photo zone operation will be set up as a communication space where all local residents can participate in sharing together. Popular singer Yoon Do-hyun, a resident of Gwangjin-gu, will attract attention by donating his cherished items to the bazaar.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I ask for the active participation and support of all residents in donation activities that share warm hearts with neighbors in need during the cold winter," and added, "We hope that the entire community will join forces to have a warm winter without any neighbors being left out."
