The public-type daycare center system, implemented since 2011, is a program designated by Gyeongnam Province for private and home daycare centers that meet certain conditions, aiming to establish a high-quality childcare infrastructure by adhering to strengthened operational standards. Currently, 19 daycare centers are designated in Yangsan City.
President Bang Eun-young of the Public-Type Daycare Center Association said, "We hope this will be of some help to abused children, and that all children can grow up healthy."
The abuse victim children's shelter, 'Group Home Yangsan Daseul,' is a facility that temporarily protects abused girls and has been operating since September 2023. The shelter has a capacity of 7 children, and a staff of 6, including the facility director, 4 childcare workers, and clinical psychology therapy specialists, provide child protection, psychological treatment, and counseling.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon said, "We appreciate the meaningful donation at the end of the year, and the funds will be used for children who need temporary protection due to abuse," adding, "Yangsan City will do its best to help children grow up dreaming of the future."
