Naju City in Jeollanam-do is publicly recruiting the 9th Resident Participation Budget Committee members until the 17th, reflecting citizens' voices in the budget formulation process to realize fiscal democracy.
According to the city on the 4th, the Resident Participation Budget Committee will be composed of a total of 75 members: up to 28 members through open recruitment, up to 26 members recommended by the Eup/Myeon/Dong Resident Autonomy Committees, and up to 21 members recommended by civic, social, professional organizations, and institutions.
Applications must be submitted by 6 p.m. on the 17th either by visiting the Eup/Myeon/Dong Administrative Welfare Centers or the Budget Team of the Planning and Budget Office in person, or by mail or email, along with the application form, consent form for personal information, and a copy of the resident registration.
Eligibility to apply includes anyone residing in Naju City as of the announcement date (December 2) or employees of businesses with headquarters or branches located in the city.
Committee members will directly participate throughout the budget formulation process by receiving budget education, gathering citizens' opinions through discussions, and determining the priority of proposed projects.
The term of office is two years, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, following the final selection at the end of December.
A Naju City official stated, “We plan to select Resident Participation Budget Committee members by balancing age, gender, region, and experience to ensure diverse opinions from all walks of life are reflected,” and added, “We hope for much interest and participation in recruiting committee members for transparent and sound fiscal management and the realization of fiscal democracy.”
