On the night of the 3rd, President Yoon Seok-yeol suddenly declared martial law, plunging Korean society into chaos. Amid this, a post from a cafe has become a hot topic online.
On the 4th, an online community posted a message titled "Notice from a Mangwon-dong Cafe Posted at Dawn After Martial Law." According to the content, a cafe located in Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, posted on its official social media account a message rejecting the "anachronistic martial law." The attached photo showed a red drink, presumably sold at the cafe, along with the phrase, "Starting tomorrow, a regular 'Red Gathering' for the impeachment of the president will officially be held at ○○○ (business name). We ask for the attention of those who wish to be arrested and detained."
Through another post, the cafe announced, "Starting this week, ○○○'s business hours will change to 6 PM to 2 AM on Tuesdays, and 2 PM to 2 AM from Wednesday to Sunday. Please note that orders will be accepted until 30 minutes before closing." They also expressed gratitude, saying, "We thank everyone who loves us." Furthermore, they added, "○○○ refuses to have its daily life invaded by the anachronistic martial law and will continue normal operations. We kindly ask those who find it difficult to risk arrest and detention to refrain from visiting," voicing criticism of President Yoon's martial law declaration. The phrase "risk of arrest and detention" in the post likely refers to the curfew imposed during martial law, which can prohibit going out during certain hours and allows for arbitrary arrest and detention if necessary.
Netizens who saw this responded with comments such as, "The owner's spirit is admirable," "I've been here; the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is really nice. I will visit again," and "I should attend that Red Gathering too."

Earlier, around 10:28 PM on the 3rd, President Yoon held an emergency national address to declare martial law. Following this, martial law troops gathered at the National Assembly and attempted to enter the main building around midnight, leading to clashes with secretariat staff and party aides who tried to block them. Eventually, a motion to lift martial law was passed through a plenary session, and the troops withdrew. The government then officially lifted martial law at 4:30 AM after a Cabinet meeting.
