Yangju-si Childcare Support Center Wins Governor's Award at 'Gyeonggi-do Character Education Contest'

The Yangju City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it received the Grand Prize, the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Award, at the ‘Gyeonggi Province Character Education Excellent Operation Case Contest Award Ceremony’ held on the 29th of last month at the Pyeonghwa Nuri Hall in the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building.

The Yangju City Childcare Support Center received the Grand Prize, the Gyeonggi Province Governor's Award, at the 'Gyeonggi Province Character Education Excellent Operation Case Contest Awards Ceremony' held on the 29th of last month at the Pyeonghwa Nuri Hall in the Northern Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building. This contest was organized targeting 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province to discover and disseminate excellent cases of character education and to promote the spread of character education through systematic support.

The Yangju City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center structured its play instructor-led play program around the theme of ‘character’ and operated a year-long project for parents and young children, earning recognition for its outstanding results and winning the Grand Prize.

Center Director Kim Gwang-i expressed his gratitude, saying, “We conducted experiential programs for early childhood character education together with parents, strengthening the bond between parents and children, and providing opportunities to communicate through joint activities. The award is the result of our efforts to create an environment where healthy family relationships can be formed.”

Meanwhile, the Yangju City Childcare Comprehensive Support Center also holds an annual UCC contest for daycare centers on the theme of character. Rather than theoretical education, it plans character education programs to enable character education through practical experiences and operates programs where character virtues can be experienced through various activities (physical, art, sensory, cooking).
