Busan Urban Corporation Holds 4th Regulation Review Committee Meeting... Improvement of Rules and Internal Regulations

Enhancing Management Efficiency and Increasing Citizen Benefits Realized

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, Acting President Park Su-saeng) recently held the 4th Regulation Review Committee meeting in the corporation's small conference room and improved a total of 70 regulations and internal rules this year.

The main agenda items submitted to the committee on the 18th of last month included ▲departmental task assignments and delegation adjustments related to the 2024 organizational restructuring ▲proactive reflection of the 2025 local public enterprise budget formulation guideline revisions ▲incorporation of amendments to the local public official service regulations ▲and 20 other items aimed at resolving residents' inconveniences and easing corporate regulatory burdens. These will be promulgated and implemented after board approval and Busan City’s authorization.

The eight committee members, composed of the Head of Planning and Management Headquarters and directors of divisions and offices, focused their deliberations on three key criteria: enhancing management efficiency, increasing citizen convenience, and legal compliance.

The committee members comprehensively reviewed ▲improvements to unreasonable regulations and procedures ▲potential conflicts with other regulations ▲and prevention of regulatory gaps during task execution, aiming to make work procedures more efficient and transparent. They also carefully examined the deliberation contents to preemptively block possible legal issues and institutional risks.

Notably, the amendments to the audit regulation enforcement rules, which clarify the scope of routine audits, were included, and it is expected that this will strengthen legality and validity in future work processes.

After the regulation amendments are approved, the relevant details will be disclosed through the BMC Regulation Management System, the Ministry of Government Legislation’s National Law Information Center, and Clean Eye.

Acting President Park Su-saeng of Busan Metropolitan Corporation stated, “As the corporation’s work processes have been improved to be more efficient and transparent through the Regulation Review Committee, we will continue to strive for management stability and citizen convenience through active regulation improvements.”
