At the event, about 30 people attended, including Jeong Jong-bok, the head of Gijang-gun, related officials from Gijang-gun, representatives of industrial complex management organizations, and businesspeople from 12 industrial complexes, agreeing that the public and private sectors will closely cooperate to support small and medium enterprises and improve the business environment.
The launch of this Small and Medium Enterprise Support Council was prepared as part of Head Jeong’s core pledge, ‘Creating a Business-Friendly City Gijang,’ to strengthen a win-win partnership through regular communication with local small and medium enterprises.
The council is the first public-private cooperation body formed in the industrial and economic sectors since the launch of the 8th local government administration, consisting of a total of 19 members: ▲Gijang-gun Office ▲five industrial complex management organizations ▲representatives of 13 companies located in industrial complexes.
Going forward, the county plans to hold regular meetings at least twice a year to listen to the difficulties faced by companies, identify their needs, and seek effective directions for corporate support.
In particular, reflecting the reality that the concentration of large-scale industrial complexes in the region is driving Busan’s industrial development, the council intends to communicate closely to create a business environment for innovative growth and to develop future food industries.
Jeong Jong-bok, the head of the county, said, “Through the formation of this Small and Medium Enterprise Support Council, we will actively support the creation of a business-friendly environment and the growth of future food industries led by companies, building a ‘Happy City Gijang-gun’ full of quality jobs.”
