Detailed Information Disclosure on Website Including Name, Business Name (Corporation), Age, and Address
The National Tax Service (NTS) disclosed personal information of entities such as insincere donation-receiving organizations, tax evaders, violators of overseas financial account reporting obligations, and those who violated tax invoice issuance duties on its website on the 4th.
The list of disclosed subjects was finalized after deliberation by the National Tax Information Committee. First, insincere donation-receiving organizations refer to those that issued false donation receipts or were subject to tax collection due to non-compliance with obligations under the Inheritance and Gift Tax Act. This disclosure includes 25 organizations such as religious groups that sold false donation receipts and organizations that were fined over 10 million KRW in gift tax for leaving donated property, which was exempted from gift tax, unused for public interest projects within three years and abandoned as vacant land.
Tax evaders are individuals who have been convicted of evading 200 million KRW or more in national taxes through fraud or other dishonest acts. This year, 41 individuals were disclosed, including delivery food business operators who used unregistered electronic payment (PG) companies to receive payment into nominee accounts to evade taxes, and wedding hall operators who concealed income received in cash (such as congratulatory money paid in cash) or through nominee accounts by maintaining double books and destroying actual contracts.
Additionally, two individuals who failed to report overseas financial assets located abroad without justifiable reasons (amounting to 39.981 billion KRW each) were disclosed as violators of overseas financial account reporting obligations. Furthermore, two business operators who issued false tax invoices for a fee to disguise undocumented transactions without tax invoices or other evidence as legitimate transactions were disclosed as violators of tax invoice issuance duties.
An NTS official stated, "Going forward, the National Tax Service will continue to disclose the names of those who violate tax laws to promote a culture of sincere tax payment, and will carry out fair tax administration based on law and principles."
