Yangpyeong-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in the 2024 Basic Pension Project Evaluation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare

High Scores in Evaluation Items Including Basic Pension Application Rate, Benefit Rate, and Change Management

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) has achieved the great feat of being selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2024 Basic Pension Project Meritorious Institution Evaluation.’

The Ministry of Health and Welfare selects and awards outstanding institutions every year to boost the morale of local governments contributing to the Basic Pension Project and to share best practices.

This evaluation was conducted based on various criteria such as the application rate for the basic pension, benefit receipt rate, budget execution performance, and management of benefit hope history. Yangpyeong-gun received high marks for establishing a continuous management system through active promotion of basic pension applications targeting seniors aged 65 and older and the application system for managing benefit hope history.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon stated, “We are making active efforts at the county level to ensure that all seniors can apply for the basic pension without omission,” adding, “In particular, we are strengthening the system to continuously manage and ensure that pensions are received without any omissions even after the application.”

Meanwhile, Yangpyeong-gun’s recent achievement is the result of efforts for transparent and fair basic pension payments and is expected to become a nationwide model case.
