Changwon Special City, Full Effort to Achieve Pledge Implementation Rate in the Second Half of the 8th Elected Term

2024 Second Half Year Pledge Implementation Status Report Meeting Held

On the 4th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2024 Second Half Pledge Implementation Status Report Meeting' attended by directors and department heads in charge of pledge projects.

Changwon Special City, Full Effort to Achieve Pledge Implementation Rate in the Second Half of the 8th Elected Term Mayor Hong Nampyo is holding a pledge implementation status briefing session.

The report meeting was organized to visualize the achievements of the 8th local government pledges in the second half and to strengthen the execution power of pledge implementation. In particular, the focus was on identifying internal and external factors that could affect the pledge implementation process and preparing countermeasures accordingly.

The main projects under review included ▲the establishment of an international arena performance hall ▲promotion of road construction between Buk-myeon and Chilwon ▲securing a 4-lane road from Mageumsan Hot Springs to Myeongchon Village in Oesan-ri ▲and the establishment of new elementary and middle schools in Gamgye and Mudong areas of Buk-myeon, which are projects with low pledge implementation rates due to external factors.

The city plans to immediately supplement the measures to improve pledge implementation rates derived from this meeting and prepare effective alternatives to accelerate project promotion. Through this, it aims to bring about positive changes in citizens' daily lives with tangible project achievements and make 2025 a year of "leaping and soaring as the center of Northeast Asia."

Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, urged, “Since next year is the last year to produce tangible results for the 8th local government pledge projects, please ensure thorough project promotion so that citizens can directly experience the changing face of Changwon.”

Meanwhile, the pledge implementation rate for the third quarter of 2024 recorded 59.2%, an increase of 23.2% compared to the same period last year. The city plans to continue this trend and focus on inspecting and managing underperforming projects to achieve a 70% implementation rate by the fourth quarter.
