Jeong Yura Criticizes Yoon's 'Emergency Martial Law' Plan
"Already Low Approval Ratings, Will Pierce Earth's Core"
Jung Yura, the daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), harshly criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 3rd for declaring martial law, saying, "The conservatives are ruined, and the country is f***ed."
On the 4th, Jung posted on her Facebook account, "I am disappointed by yesterday's actions, and it seems the approval rating will be shattered. If a man draws a sword, he should at least cut radish, but he didn't even cut the radish," adding, "Now he has lost his mind, and all I can do is laugh."
She continued, "I am genuinely drained now, not even angry," and criticized President Yoon, saying, "With such low approval ratings and doing things that are neither here nor there, it feels like the Earth's core will be pierced." She lamented, "How will this be managed? Honestly, I thought I was the smartest one below the 38th parallel in the National Assembly when it came to finding excuses, but no matter how much I think about it, there is no breakthrough."
On the night of the 3rd at 10:28 PM, President Yoon announced martial law in a national address. However, at 1:00 AM on the 4th, a motion to lift martial law was submitted to the plenary session, and with all 190 members of the National Assembly voting in favor, the motion passed at 1:03 AM. President Yoon issued a statement lifting martial law at 4:29 AM and held a Cabinet meeting at 4:30 AM to approve the lifting of martial law. Consequently, the martial law troops deployed to the National Assembly also withdrew.
