Donation Kiosk with Small Donations and Smart Payments Installed in City Hall Lobby
Mayor Lee Thanks Citizens for Their Warm Support Every Year
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has launched a donation train to deliver warmth to neighbors in need during the year-end and New Year season.
On the 3rd, Yongin City held the 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign Love Thermometer & Donation Kiosk Unveiling Ceremony and Love Train Relay Kick-off Ceremony' at the City Hall Convention Hall, attended by about 50 people including Mayor Lee Sang-il, City Council Chairperson Yoo Jin-seon, and Vice Chairman Hong Seung-pyo of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.

The 'Love Thermometer' was installed to inform the fundraising status of Yongin City's representative year-end and New Year neighbor-helping campaign, the 'Love Train Relay,' and to spread a culture of sharing. Through the 'Love Train Relay,' the city is promoting a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising a total of 1.3 billion KRW over 69 days until February 7 next year. Each time 1% of the Love Train fundraising target is achieved, the temperature on the Love Thermometer rises by one degree.
At the unveiling ceremony, the 'Donation Kiosk' was introduced for the first time. The donation kiosk allows citizens to conveniently donate using smart payment systems such as credit cards and Samsung Pay, starting from 1,000 KRW, with the option to freely choose the donation amount and donation theme. After donating, various content is also provided to the donor’s phone, such as donation certification photos. Mayor Lee participated as the first donor at the donation kiosk.
In his greeting, Mayor Lee said, "Every year, citizens add their warm hearts to the Love Train, so I expect that the fundraising target of 1.3 billion KRW will be quickly achieved again next year," adding, "I hope the thermometer continues to rise steadily."
At the event, the launch ceremony of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest's 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign Yongin Promotion Team' and the donation and gift delivery ceremony for the Love Train Relay by local companies and institutions were also held. The 'Hope 2025 Sharing Campaign Yongin Promotion Team' appointed Mayor Lee as honorary team leader and about 20 local opinion leaders as promotion team members, and plans to carry out various activities to promote a culture of sharing together with the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.
