In November this year, sales of imported cars decreased by about 4% compared to the previous year, marking a decline for the second consecutive month. In the cumulative sales volume up to November, major brands except Tesla and Lexus also showed a decrease compared to the previous year.
According to the Korea Imported Automobile Association on the 4th, the number of registered imported passenger cars in November was 23,784 units, down 3.9% from the previous year. The cumulative number of registrations from January to November this year was 239,764 units, showing a 1.7% decrease compared to the previous year.
Notably, Tesla and Lexus showed remarkable growth. By ranking, BMW was first, selling 6,665 units, down 5.2%, and Mercedes-Benz sold 5,086 units, showing a significant decrease of about 29% compared to the previous year. On the other hand, Tesla Korea continued its strong performance by ranking third with 3,618 units sold, and Lexus increased its sales by 15.8% compared to the previous year, selling 1,370 units.
The best-selling cars by trim were the Tesla Model Y with 3,048 units sold, followed by the BMW 520 (1,164 units), Mercedes-Benz E-300 4MATIC (718 units), Mercedes-Benz E 200 (628 units), and Lexus ES300h (609 units).
