Senior aides at the Presidential Office collectively tendered their resignations on the 4th in response to the aftermath of the emergency martial law declaration.
On the morning of the same day, the Presidential Office informed the press corps that "the chief and senior secretaries have collectively submitted their resignations."
It is reported that senior secretaries and above agreed to submit their resignations during the senior secretaries' meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok in the morning.
Given the ruling party's strong impeachment attacks against President Yoon Seok-yeol related to the declaration of martial law, this move is interpreted as an attempt to prevent further fallout by completely reorganizing the aides.
If the resignations are accepted, Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok, Policy Chief Seong Tae-yoon, National Security Office Chief Shin Won-sik, and all senior secretaries will be replaced.
