SSG.com announced on the 4th that it will expand its dawn delivery service to the Chungcheong region, including Daejeon Metropolitan City and Sejong Special Self-Governing City. Starting from June 9th, dawn delivery will also be available in the southern Gyeonggi region, including Hwaseong City and Dongtan, beginning with Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province.

Customers in these areas can receive their orders by 7 a.m. the next day if they place their orders by 11 p.m. They can select their preferred delivery date up to three days in advance, and delivery is also available on Sundays.

Specifically, the newly added areas for SSG.com’s dawn delivery in the southern Gyeonggi region include ▲Gwangju ▲Dongtan ▲Hwaseong ▲Hanam ▲Osan ▲Icheon ▲Pyeongtaek. In the Chungcheong region, the newly added areas are ▲Daejeon ▲Sejong ▲Asan ▲Cheongju ▲Cheonan.

Products are delivered in recyclable paper boxes. Refrigerated and frozen items are packed in separate pouches with cooling agents to maintain the appropriate temperature.

SSG.com explained that the expansion of the dawn delivery service area was pursued to enhance customer convenience and strengthen the growth foundation of its core category, 'online grocery shopping.' It is expected that about 4 million households in the Chungcheong and southern Gyeonggi regions will be able to receive fresh and processed foods as well as daily necessities quickly and conveniently.

This expansion is a result of the business partnership agreement (MOU) between Shinsegae Group and CJ Group. The expansion was made possible based on the logistics infrastructure and operational capabilities owned by CJ Logistics, and dawn delivery products ordered by customers in the relevant areas will be delivered through CJ Logistics.

Han Geonsu, SSG.com’s SCM Manager, said, "We expect that more customers in a wider area will benefit from this expansion of the dawn delivery service area," adding, "We plan to continuously explore ways to further expand the delivery area together with CJ Logistics, which has the largest logistics infrastructure in Korea with about 700 locations nationwide, equivalent to 1,600 football fields, and the best expertise."

Meanwhile, SSG.com is running a promotion for new dawn delivery area customers until July 4th. Customers who purchase over 19,800 KRW will receive two free dawn delivery coupons. Coupons for up to 50% discount on grocery items will also be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers who purchase over 40,000 KRW will receive one popular processed food or daily necessity item selected by SSG.com as a gift.
